When you think about locations for senior picture in or near Louisville Kentucky, a parking garage probably isn't the first place that come to mind- but maybe it should be.
For this downtown Louisville senior session, we traded the traditional field and park setting for a rooftop overlooking the city. Concrete, skyline vies, downtown architecture and one seriously cool clock tower turned an ordinary parking garage into a backdrop that felt modern, editorial and completely different from the typical senior portrait session.
A Unique Location for Senior Pictures in Downtown Louisville
One of my favorite things about photographing seniors is creating a session that actually feels like them. Senior portraits don't have to mean standing in a field or leaning against a tree- especially if that isn't your personality.
This downtown Louisville rooftop senior photo location gave us so much variety without needing an elaborate setup. The open rooftop created clean minimalist backgrounds, while surrounding buildings added texture, dimension and that unmistakable urban Louisville feel.
Even the painted parking lines, concrete walls, windows and rooftop structures became part of the photographs.
The result? Senior photos that feel youthful, modern and a little editorial while still keeping the focus exactly where it belongs: on the senior!
Urban Senior Photos With Plenty of Variety
One of the best parts about choosing downtown Louisville for senior pictures is how much the look of a gallery can change within a relatively small area.
A casual outfit with loose denim and sneakers immediately gave the rooftop a cool, laid-back feel, while a soft green dress against the concrete and brick completely changed the mood. The same urban location went from edgy and modern to soft and feminine simply by changing outfits and using different areas of the rooftop.
